(More customer reviews)Lisa Lillien doesn't have an all-around nutritional philosophy like the excellent The Evolution Diet, but what she does offer is something most diet plans don't have: a wealth of unique and tasty recipes that allow you to stay satisfied and yet reduce your calorie intake. Calories are important, of course because if you have a calorie surplus, you will gain weight; a deficit and you will lose weight. It's that simple.
This edition has 300 recipes that fall into this low-cal concept and includes like likes of Creamy Crabcakes Benedict, Cheesesteak Salad, Burgerific Mushroom Melt, and a BLT Pizza! The seemingly arbitrary 300-calorie recipes are all delicious looking and relatively easy to prepare. I thought 300 was just a random number, but think about it, if your BMR is 1800 calories a day (typical for us hungry girls), you can eat 6 (six!) of these recipes and not gain any weight. Throw in some exercise and you're losing weight! That's a great plan.
The stress here is on calories and not ingredients, so she includes some artificial ingredients, but the overall effect is okay. You're still reducing your calorie intake. I recommend this for anyone interested in keeping their weight down with tasty meals- it's a great compliment to The Evo-Diet mentioned above or any other health plan.
